There’s usually a LONG list of reasons why we stay in a bad relationship, along with a list of reasons why we should leave. How can we be so comfortable in a relationship that doesn’t satisfy us?? Here’s why:
We stay because we make excuses.
We stay because of intimacy.
We stay because we don’t set boundaries to give us the
courage to leave.
We stay because it’s convenient, it’s a comfort zone, and it’s
familiar.
We stay because we silently battle with what could be and
what is.
We intentionally ignore reality because we’re forcing the
possibilities.
We stay because we don’t want to start over, we
secretly want to win and prove a point to others.
We stay because of the time we’ve invested.
We stay because we just haven’t had enough yet.
We stay because we deal with what we complain about.
We allow what we complain about.
We stay because we don’t know love.
We stay because it’s all we know.
We stay because it’s the only love we’ve experienced – rather it’s good or bad.
We stay because the good outweighs the bad.
We stay because it’s the only love we’ve had.
We stay because we believe in change.
We stay because we have an emotional and physical attachment.
We stay because we’re chasing the potential and ignoring reality.
We stay because, sometimes, we just want to.
Important notes for you:
1. Just because you’re numb to it, it doesn’t make it ok.
2. You deserve to be loved to the highest capacity.
3. Someone can only love you and see you, the way you love and see yourself.
4. Do what’s best for YOU. You may be staying because everyone else is rooting for you and admiring what they see from the outside, but every day, it’s YOU that feels empty, disrespected, alone, tired and pretending to be happy. So do what YOU have to do.
5. God would not remove anyone from your life that would stop you from getting to your destiny. If it’s not meant, God will show you and carry you through the break-up.
